The Rotary Clubs of Horwich and Bolton Lever each nominated Urban Outreach (Bolton) as one of their charities to receive part of the £58,500 raised by Rotary Charity Fundraisers participating in last years Ironman UK event. Having both nominated the same charity they decided on a joint presentation of their separate donations.   more

Rotarian Tim Loosemore from the Rotary Club of Langport & Somerton raised £1,000 for Whizz-kidz through Rotary Charity Fundraisers as a Rotary charity entry in this years Tour of Wessex. The additional funds were handed over last Saturday to Whizz-kidz at the home of Eliza Perkins who has herself benefitted from the charity's support.   more

Ironman UK Charity Funds Support Bolton Food Bank

Charity funds raised by Rotary Charity Fundraisers who take part in Ironman UK at Bolton were donated to Storehouse, one of the two Bolton food banks on Saturday 3rd August at the Horwich Asda, Middlebrook. The cheque for £667 was presented by Ted Wisedale the President of RCF Host Club the Rotary Club of Horwich to Dave Bagley the CEO of Urban Outreach (Bolton) who run Storehouse and Linda Gallimore an Asda Community Life Champion. In July it was revealed that more than 10,000 people in Bolton had turned to food banks for emergency support in just six months.  more

New Rotary Club President Starts His Year Off With a 1,000 Mile Cycle Ride

The incoming President of the Rotary Club of Thrapston and Raunds is starting his year off in spectacular style. Just six days after he takes office as the clubs new president he will be setting off on a 1,000 mile cycle ride from Land's End to John O'Groats for charity as a Rotary Charity Fundraiser. His 14 day continuous ride will see him averaging over 70 miles a day with a longest daily leg of some 85 miles.  more

‘Red Rats’ Charity Cycle Team from 849 Naval Air Squadron Honour their Fallen Comrades

The 14 member ‘Red Rats’ team from 849 Naval Air Squadron, including the CO, set off from RNAS Culdrose on Monday 18th March. The 400 mile charity cycle finishes at the National Memorial Arboretum on Friday 22nd March. The charity cycle commemorates the tenth anniversary of the tragic loss of seven crew members when two Sea Kings from 849 Squadron collided during Operation Telic on the 22nd March 2003 in the Northern Arabian Gulf.   more
