Rotary Clubs Join Together for Presentation to Bolton Charity
Urban Outreach (Bolton) provides practical support to families who have multiple problems as well as to individuals who are disadvantaged and vulnerable. Urban Outreach (Bolton) have a number of projects that focus on specific areas of need. These include Winter Watch and Storehouse. The later assists nearly 500 families a week who use food bank vouchers. During the same December to May period the Winter Watch project provides a shelter service to between 60-90 people per night as well as a wide range of support on a daily basis.
The Rotary Club of Bolton Lever nominated the Urban Outreach (Bolton) Winter Watch project whilst the Rotary Club of Horwich nominated the charity itself. The two donations totalled £1,150 and came from the funds raised by many individual Rotary Charity Fundraisers taking part in the Ironman UK triathlon event.
Both clubs provide marshalls and stewards at the event on a voluntary basis. This partnership between Rotary, Fundraisers and Ironman has now raised nearly £776,000 during the past decade.
