Tour of Wessex has a Rotarian Volunteer Hero from the Home Town Rotary Club

The Rotary Clubs of Langport and Somerton & Brue Valley have provided refreshments at the Tour of Wessex event each year since it started. The Tour of Wessex has now grown into the largest multi-stage cyclosportive in the world so they expect to be very busy again this year. Each year they nominate a principal charity to receive a major portion of the funds they raise from their endeavors over the weekend. This year it is the South West branch of ‘Whizz-Kidz’. The charity provides special wheelchairs to disabled children to meet their individual mobility needs to give them the chance to lead a more independent life. See www.whizz-kidz.org.uk

For the first time this year Rotary Charity Fundraisers have become the Charity Partner for the Tour of Wessex. Tim Loosemore an enterprising Rotarian from the Rotary Club of Langport & Somerton and keen cyclist has volunteered to increase the funds for donation by becoming a Rotary Charity Fundraiser and nominating ‘Whizz-Kidz’ as his charity. The Rotary Club of Brue Valley are partners with the Rotary Club of Langport & Somerton for the Tour of Wessex and are fully supporting Tim's fundraising effort.
