Powerman

Rotary Charity Fundraisers offer you the opportunity to participate in Powerman UK whilst at the same time raising funds for charity for FREE *

We welcome Powerman UK to Sherborne. The historic town of Sherborne was the home of the Ironman UK events for many years. An ancient town with two castles, an old one that was blown-up by Oliver Cromwell and a new one that was built by Sir Walter Raleigh and an Abbey which was founded by St. Aldhelm over 1300 years ago. The run course weaves its way through the town with a lapped course that includes medieval Cheap Street and past the Abbey, Sherborne School and many other historic buildings. The bike course takes you out into glorious Hardy country. Up the climb to Lyons Gate and on down the Cerne Valley past the world famous Cerne Giant. The bike course then takes you out into the beautiful Blackmore Vale and back to Sherton Abbas as Thomas Hardy called Sherborne.

Each event has a choice of BASIC, SILVER and GOLD pledges. The value of the pledge depends the events chosen. All Rotary Charity Fundraisers receive a FREE Fundraiser Pack after they have entered the event and become active. They achieve FREE Entry [a refund of their entry fee] to the event when they reach the value of their pledge.

In addition, those making SILVER and GOLD pledges receive a FREE Event Pack when their fundraising total reaches a pre-defined amount and those making a GOLD pledge receive an additional FREE Event Extra when they reach the silver pledge value for the event.

In 2014 Rotary & Powerman UK are supporting FIVE principal charity causes. These are set out under the Charity Causes section. All Rotary Charity Fundraisers, if they wish, are able to nominate their 'special' charity or good cause when they register to receive a large portion of any funds they raise. Details of the options are contained in the Charity Causes section.

Members of Rotary clubs from the district around Sherborne will be involved in supporting the event whilst working alongside the Powerman UK team, to ensure that all participants, families and friends have an enjoyable weekend.

Rotary is a worldwide voluntary organisation with over 1.2m members in 200 countries. In Britain and Ireland it has over 55,000 members in 1,850 clubs.

Rotary Charity Fundraisers, the Powerman UK organisers and most importantly you the individual Rotary Charity Fundraiser all commit, in a unique charity partnership, to help those less fortunate by raising funds for charities and good causes through this challenging event.
